The Centerpiece

The Centerpiece of  “Il Giardino” is a lovely handcrafted ceramic planter handpainted in a garden motif.  This elegant gift planter will beautify any home, be it an apartment or country estate. Once the contents are removed and enjoyed, the pretty planter will recall a thoughtful and unique gift.
Inside “Il Giardino” are fine foods, ceramics and other treasures imported from Italy, the jewel of the Mediterranean.






The Contents


La Scatola Ceramiche
A round ceramic case in a design coordinated with the planter, this memento-style box is a nifty knick-knack that can hold jewelry, candy or any secret stash.


Collana di Murano
 A necklace of Murano glass, sculpted to a leaf shape to dangle prettily from a lucky lady’s neck.



Mosaic
Painstakingly handcrafted in an artisan’s enclave in Monreale, a pretty mosaic that is not painted but made of a variety of rocks in their natural color, showing the famous view of the town’s world-renowned cathedral.


 The Gourmet Foods

Olio d’Olive Extra virgin olive oil with basil.  Green, fruity and delicious,  by Federico.
Olio di Girasole Sunflower oil flavored with tomatoes, chili peppers and bay leaves. By Collina Toscana.
Anelleti Pasta  By Antica Corleone, a small round shape perfect for salads and broths.
Pasta Arte Tagliatelle Long wide ribbons of  semolina pasta.
Sugo con Sarde e Finnochio  Sardines and wild fennel sauce for the quintessential Sicilian dish.  Serve over Tagliatelle with crusty garlic bread.

é di Aglio Garlic paté for garlic bread and sauces, use anywhere instead of fresh garlic.
Paté di Funghi Light and tasty, this mushroom paté is heavenly atop a char-broiled hamburger.
Capperi di Pantelleria Capers packed in sea salt.   Great for Pasta Putanesca and Pollo Piccata. 
Acciughe al Prezzemolo Anchovy filets and parsley packed in extra virgin olive oil.   Mix with hot cooked pasta and top with toasted bread  crumbs for a traditional treat from Southern Italy.
Pomodoro Secco A paté of sundried tomatoes, olive oil and spices.  A novel sandwich spread.
Tonno Alalunga Tidbits of tender tuna packed in golden olive oil.  Scrumptious layered on French bread with onion slivers and arugula.

é di  Melanzana  Eggplant paté to spread on French bread slices, top with grated cheese and toast lightly.

é di Carciofi  A smooth paté of artichokes, extra virgin olive oil and herbs. Fill small pastry cups and top with a dollop of ricotta.
Peperoncino Macinato Ground hot peppers in olive oil. 
Maestrale Sea Salt of Sicily  From the salt marshes of Trapani, good for cooking and table service.
Miele con Mandorle Roasted almonds drenched in honey, made in Sciacca.  For an unusual appetizer, spoon over a warm smoked cheese such as Scamorza. 
Miele con Fragole  Honey with wild strawberries. Serve over vanilla ice cream and sliced fresh strawberries or pound cake.
Caffe Trinacria A superior grade espresso coffee made in Centuripe on the western slope of Mt. Etna. 
Gavioli Succo di Frutta  Sparkling green apple fruit juice.  Perfect for breakfast, lunch or a light apple martini!
Cioccolato di Modica  Two chocolate  candy bars from the medieval  town of Modica,  one flavored with vanilla, one with cinnamon.  Delicious grated on top of whipped cream for a chocolate lover’s garnish. 
Capicollo Rustico A white fig “sausage” with nuts and fruit flavoring.  Slice and serve alone or with butter cookies. 
I Dolci  An assortment of sweets. Chocolates, fruit-flavored hard candies and mini-pastries sprinkled throughout the basket.
