The Centerpiece

The "Il Giardino” basket is an elegant ceramic planter made and painted by hand in a family – owned shop on Palermo’s sunny seaport. The elegant planter will add beauty to any home, be it an apartment or country estate. Filled with the bounty of an Italian garden, plus Murano glass, mosaic artwork and a piece of jewelry. This stunning piece will recall a thoughtful and unique gift long after the contents are removed and enjoyed.





The Contents

Trinkets & Ceramic
A paperweight from the heart, from Murano, and a handful of glass “candies” in millefiori designs to add color and brilliance to any décor. Also, a handpainted ceramic dipping dish for olive oils or other goodies.



Art
From the Ferraro family shoppe in Monreale, this striking mosaic is not painted but is composed of a variety of rocks in their natural color, formed into a beautiful bouquet. In sparkling colors that catch the light and light up the room.




Profumi
For him, Dolce & Gabbana Eau de Toilette. For her, BLONDE, created by GIANNI VERSACE, was introduced in 1995. The fragrance contains jasmine and violet with traces of geranium, rose and ylang-ylang making BLONDE a trendy fragrance.Sweet and sexy scents.





Gourmet

Olio d’Olive   Extra virgin Tuscan olive oil by Grappolini.  An intense flavor from the first pressing of Etruscan green olives.
Olio di Girasole  Sunflower oil flavored with tomatoes, chili peppers and bay leaves, by Collina Toscana.
Bottarga  di Tonno  Italian caviar, for the true connoisseur.  Recipe included.    
Formaggio in Olio  Pecorino cheese in oil. Straight from the jar is best – indescribable!
Paté di Finocchietto  Wild fennel paté.  Spread atop a pork tenderloin before roasting.
Paté di Pistacchio  Pistachio paté.  Mix with eight ounces of hot drained pasta and top with crumbled gorgonzola cheese.  Buonissimo!
Cipolle in Agrodolce  Sweet and sour onions are the perfect accompaniment to beef tenderloin, pork roast or a frittata.
Carciofini alla Diavola  Artichokes, peppers and sundried tomatoes with hot pepper sprinkles.  Devilish!
Pesto alla Trapanese  From Trapani on the west coast of Sicily, pesto sauce with a touch of tomato. 
Acciuga con Capperi  Anchovy filets rolled around plump capers.  Add to marinara sauce with chopped black olives for a great Putanesca sauce.
Paté di Tonno Tuna paté with cheese and white wine.  A simple but sensational appetizer served on buttery crackers.

I DOLCI
Cioccolato Antico  From the ancient village of Modica come chocolate bars flavored with vanilla and cinnamon. Excellent for grating on top of whipped cream.
Miele con Fragole Sulla honey with wild strawberries - a sweet and sensuous delight. Spoon over fruit, ice cream or pound cake for a simple and elegant dessert.
Miele con Noci   Roasted nuts drenched in sweet honey from the south of Italy. Spectacular as an appetizer atop warm smoked cheese, such as Scamorza.
Marmellata di Arance e Limone  A luscious combination of sweet orange and lemon marmalades.  Unusual and delicious spread on a char-broiled burger.
Marmellata di Pomodoro Crushed sweetened tomatoes make a light and luscious snack with mascarpone or cream cheese on Italian toast.

Torrone di Properzi  The classic Italian candy with chocolate, from the region of Abruzzo on the Adriatic coast. 
Assortimento  Almond pastries, torrone candies and other sweet confections sprinkled throughout the basket.
