The Centerpiece

A whimsical folk-art piece from the workshop of Nino Parrucca.  Depicting life in the many small villages that dot the Italian countryside, this scalloped pedestal plate in vivid primary colors makes a delightful addition to a casual décor.  






The Contents

Mosaic  
A bright and happy floral mosaic, from the family shoppe of Gaetano di Ferraro, in Monreale, where each work of art is one-of-a-kind.  Framed in simple gold, a lovely piece that will garner much attention.

La Collina del Sole e Luna
A celestial necklace of sterling silver in a box chain with a sun and moon pendant.  



Lattiera e Zuccheriera
A creamer and sugar holder in village art style to match the centerpiece.  

Piatti per Intingere
Two dipping dishes, especially good for the flavored olive oils in this basket, served with a variety of crusty breads.  Can also be used as a wine bottle coaster.

Olio d’Olive Extra virgin olive oil with mint.  Marvelous on grilled fish, lamb and vegetables.
Olio d’Olive Chili peppers with extra virgin olive oil, in a keepsake sunburst bottle.

Sugo con Sarde e Finnochio
Sardines and wild fennel sauce for the quintessential Sicilian dish.  Serve over linguine with crusty Italian bread.
Capperi di Sale  Capers in sea salt.  To make Pasta Putanesca or Pollo Piccata.
Sicilian Pesto Sauce  Extra virgin oil and basil.  Toss with pasta, rice or boiled potatoes and top with toasted bread crumbs.
Paté di Tonno  A mild tuna paté that makes an elegant appetizer atop buttery crackers.
Paté di Pomodori  A luscious tomato paté that is great on hamburgers or on toast with sliced fresh mozzarella.
Pomodori Ciliege Succo: 
Sundried cherry tomatoes in extra virgin olive oil.
Maestrale Sea Salt of Sicily Sea salt from the salt marshes of Trapani, on the west coast of Sicily.  For cooking and table service.
Paté di Mandorle  Almond paté to use in cookies or mixed with bread crumbs to coat chicken before baking.
Miele con Fragole Sulla honey with wild strawberries. Serve over vanilla ice cream and sliced fresh strawberries or pound cake.
Marmellata di Limone Sweet lemon marmalade.  Try it on a charbroiled hamburger with thinly sliced raw onion or toasted garlic chips for a refreshing change.
Miele con Fiori d’Arancio
Orange blossom honey, excellent on whole wheat toast or butter almond ice cream.
Gavioli Succo di Frutta
Sparkling fruit juice made with famous Sicilian blood oranges. Perfect for brunch or a late night snack.
