“The World’s Mayor" Centerpiece

“Il Sindaco del Mondo” or “The World’s Mayor,” is named for Rudy Giuliani, mayor extraordinaire of New York City. The centerpiece is a ceramic vase of regal proportions and distinction.  Handcrafted and hand painted by the maestro of artisans, Signor Giuseppe Pistone, in Caltagirone, the ceramics capital of the world. In soft hues of blue, green and golden yellow, this elegant piece will bring a lifetime of beauty to its surroundings



Mosaic
Painstakingly handcrafted in an artisans’ enclave in Monreale, this pretty mosaic is not painted but made of a variety of rocks in their natural color,  depicting the town’s famous cathedral.  



Scatola di Gioia
A jewel box from a tiny ceramics shop on the seaport in Palermo, a handy holder of rings, trinkets or any secret stash.



Collana della Fiore
A sterling silver necklace with a pretty floral pendant handpainted in a hillside shop in Corleone.


Farfalla di Ceramiche 
A lovely ceramic butterfly accent for any décor.

Anelletti Pasta By Antica  Corleone, a small round shape perfect for salads and broths.
Pasta Arte Penne Rigata  Lined tube pasta that complements any sauce.
Melanzana alla Contadina Farmer-style eggplant strips in olive oil.  Mix with ricotta and toss with hot pasta, then top with grated cheese for a peasant-style dinner.

é di Capperi Paté of capers with olive oil and spices. Fill an omelet to make a Sicilian frittata. 
Marmellata di Pomodori Sweet tomato marmalade.  Spread atop a charbroiled burger for a sweet and savory  treat.

Paté  di Carciofi   A smooth paté of artichokes, extra virgin olive oil and herbs.  Fill small pastry cups, top with a dollop of ricotta and  a sprinkle of fresh black pepper.
Sugo alla Norma  Sicily’s most famous pasta sauce, with tomatoes and eggplant.
Formaggio in Olio  Pecorino cheese packed in extra virgin olive oil and spices.  Add to antipasto or crumbled atop hot pasta.
Pesto alla Trapanese  From Trapani on the west coast of Sicily, pesto sauce with a touch of tomato.
Miele con Mandorle  Roasted almonds drenched in honey made in Sciacca.  For an unusual appetizer, spoon over a warm smoked cheese such as Scamorza.
Miele con Fragole  Honey with wild strawberries.  Spoon over vanilla ice cream and sliced fresh strawberries or pound cake.
Marmellata di Pesche  Sweet peach marmalade.  Spread  on pork chops before baking for a sweet but subtle sensation.
Caffe Trinacria  A superior grade espresso coffee made in Centuripe on the western slope of Mt. Etna.
Gavioli Succo di Frutta  Sparkling red grape juice and  two bar-style glasses by Fidenza.  Perfect for Sunday brunch.
Antica Dolceria Bonajuto  Two chocolate bars from Modica made in the ancient tradition, one flavored with vanilla, one with cinnamon.   Delicious as a candy bar or grated on top of whipped cream.
